News from Gamescom 2009 and indeed good news because we forever had been thinking of how many buttons can there be on a mouse? Razer is right there with a new gaming Naga mouse. Enough for MMO games really, but in addition to Naga, Razer offers Add On software which allows Naga users to create unlimited number of profiles all with unique commands and key presets. And, finally, to sum up gaming enthusiasm, Razer also offers a Megasoma gaming mouse mat. This will suit optical and laser units for 49.99 USD. Razer Naga for size runs up to 79.99 USD. Microsoft is launching a mouse that can be used on any surface

BlueTrack represents the most advanced tracking technology as Microsoft says. Microsoft confirmed assumptions in connection with Say Goodbye to Laser company by launching a new mouse technology called BlueTrack.

American company says that this one combines the power of optic technology with the precision of the one based on laser, allowing to this new type of mice usage on almost any kind of surface excluding mirrors and transparent glass.

This technology is based on the combination of two modern technologies - a LED with a blue light that has a pack light, which is more than 4 times wider than a laser on a simple mouse, and a special optical architecture in addition with a new image sensor, created by Microsoft and new pixel geometry also. This combination produces an image with a high contrast of the surface on which the mouse is used. It allows a very high accuracy for the movement detection of the mouse.

So, this mouse can be used on the surfaces that were inaccessible until now as a carpet or the surface of the marble or granite. Microsoft affirms also that this kind of mouse is less predisposed to accumulate dust and cloth.

BlueTrack will appear in November with two models of mice – Microsoft Explorer Mouse at a price of 99 dollars and Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse at a price of 79 dollars.

Inflatable mouse

The amount of portable devices is so huge that sometimes it seems like there is already nothing that can be made smaller. Yet creative designers think that even portable devices can become much smaller. What about you? Have you ever thought that a mouse can be even more portable?

An absolutely new mouse design has been recently offered. This gadget that is named Jelly Click takes mouse portability to the extreme. All the electronic circuitry lives on a small flexible board. The body itself is just soft plastic. When the concept is inflated it looks like a usual mouse.

But you can easily let the air out and roll the gadget up. So, whenever you need your mouse, just inflate, attach the USB cable and enjoy the usage. It's quite an understandable fact that such a structure has some important advantages. First of all it would be almost impossible to do any damages to such a device because it's very light. Another advantage consists in the fact that due to the used material this mouse will be water resistant. So you can use it even in the extreme conditions.

To my mind this gadget represents a successful attempt of combining usefulness, portability, solidity and originality. However taking into consideration the fact that everybody is accustomed to using usual mouse it would probably be, at least at the beginning, strange to use this gadget.
