Cheaper VoIP calls with the best VoIP routers

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) has become available thanks to Internet and IP that was originally designed for data transmissions over IP networks. However, the speed and the abilities of modern Internet make it possible to digitize phone calls and bring use of VoIP. If you want to use VoIP you just need to buy a VoIP ADSL modem and sign up for this feature from your provider.

So what is the main advantage of VoIP? Its main advantage is its cost as opposed to usual phone calls. Usually we pay a monthly fee for local calls and we are charge per minute for long distance calls. And here is where VoIP calls come in handy; they do not charge any additional fee for long distance calls. So the savings using VoIP can be enormous. Even though the VoIP router price is decent it will save you much more on phone calls. Besides, you can call any VoIP phone or ordinary phone from your PC or VoIP device.

Usually VoIP routers have RJ-11 FXS ports for regular phones, and RJ-11 FXO ports for fixed-line connection. On the other hand you can buy wireless VoIP router that will give you the ability to use wireless devices to make phone calls. This is very convenient when you need your device to be portable and usable wherever a VoIP router is. VoIP advantages are obvious and their main one is the cost of phone calls.

Wireless USB - no wires, same speed

Wires are getting out of fashion really fast these days. Even though they are going along their path of progress, speeding up data transfers step by step and introducing innovative silicon optical fiber technologies, they still don't fit perfectly in modern day lifestyle. That is because they are a burden to any electronic gadget. For example, Bluetooth hands free devices are popular for not having fibers and so is WiFi and mobile broadband. However, Japanese enthusiasts have introduced some amazing stuff in this field – Wireless USB kit. Yes, it is a kit, not a single device. WUSB was primarily designed for notebooks is planned to be released in the mid Decemeber '08, which is about now, so be ready to go for it if you like it, and if you live in Japan.

The manufacturer of the Wireless USB is well known in Japan Ratoc Systems. The full name of their product is Wireless USB Adapter Kit REX-WUSB1. Besides its technical part, for using it a software installation is required. There is not much information about compatibility, but it is sure compatible with Windows XP 32 bit and Windows Vista 32 / 64 bit, running on machines with CardBus PC's card slots. The installation I was previously talking about is a WUSB driver, and the USB gadget doesn't need anything to be done it, except for plugging it in Wireless USB hub. Its serial number is WD-HUB01. In it its turn, in the computer's or laptop's USB hub fits with above named Wireless USB CardBus PC Card WH-CBA01 and there you go. Now any USB device is acknowledged by the PC without any cables our fibers. It is all up to you how to use it, starting from data backups to printing documents. The WUSB by Ratoc Systems costs 31.500 Yen on the Japanese market.

Logitech Z500 Wireless Speakers

In an age when everybody strives to be as effective as possible, without having to take care about numerous wires, Logitech Z-500 Wireless Speakers is another gadget created for the comfort of laptops users, and not only. The high-performance wireless technology used by the Z-500 speakers provides consumers with the opportunity to place the speaker wherever they want and enjoy quality multimedia, including music, movies, etc.

Buying the Logitech Z-500, one gets the speaker bar, a mini-USB to the USB cable, a short audio cable, as well as a mini-USB charging cable. For those worried about the physical look of the gadgets they own, Logitech Z-500 would most likely satisfy any sophisticated taste, as the appliance displays class and professional appearance. At the front, it consists of a black surround cradling four metal speaker grills with the only instructions placed on the front of the Logitech logo, as well as the button showing a Bluetooth connection.

Users of Logitech Z-500 think that the buttons are a bit too small, but in the long run it does not affect the functionality of the overall system. Some detail that the producers of Logitech Z-500 seem to not have taken into account is the mute button, which for some is quite an important option. At the same time, Logitech provides some very useful auto-installing software, which is compatible with XP, Vista and Mac OSX, feature that allows you to manage the volume on individual applications.

When it comes to options of getting music to play, Logitech Z-500 offers numerous choices. It will work with any Bluetooth device, taking into consideration even the most updated mobile phones. Logitech Z-500 takes care of wired connectivity through USB or 3.5mm jack. Complete lack of restrictions is established through Z-500’s Li-ion battery which works for 12 hours without interruptions, which is enough for running the speakers for almost a day.

When it comes to the sound quality, considering the fact that it is a small speaker bar, it provides quite good sound quality, audio being full-bodied, but the highs and the bass could use some improvements.

The Logitech Z-500 Wireless Speakers represent something useful, but at the same time the price seems to be quite expensive comparing to other similar appliances.

Portable Wireless Projector

Surely sometimes we all want to show something on a bigger screen than your digital camera, PDA or laptop has. Usually, for these cases, we need a projector, but they are bulky to carry around and quite expensive. Moreover, they always need a laptop, which is not a very portable device too. There must be a way to show your photos or movies without any laptop and in much more convenient way... And there is!

The Micro Projector, as the name tells, is a very portable and compact version of projector. It will surely help you to transfer all your newly taken photos or video clips on a way much bigger screen than your device has. One of the best features of this gadget, apart from it being very compact, is its ability to play files directly from an SD card, removing the need in laptop or other video broadcasting device. It can still be connected to the video source, as it has component audio and video input slots, so you will be able to connect it to your DVD player.

However, the quality of image will not be comparable with expensive special projectors; the manufacturer does not even release information about resolution or contrast ratio of this compact projector. But who cares when all you need is to show some photos to your friends from your latest holiday? It even has a speakers at the rear side, so you will hear sound from your video clips or MP3 files as well. Batteries-powered, it can operate without any wires attached, which is also a great plus.

With this Micro Projector you can experience the advantages of using projectors without need in spending huge amount of money for professional one. It is very simple to use and operate, and performs its actions pretty well. Just ensure that you have dark enough room with a suitable projectable surface - we doubt that it can show a bright picture under direct sunlight. This interesting gadget can be purchased for about 0 - a nice price for a compact and portable projector.

Wireless Charging Pad

Wireless technologies became very popular and they develop day by day. All wires now seem very old-fashioned and uncomfortable to work with. However, all gadget lovers still face them every time they recharge their devices. Unfortunately, there are no ways to emit electricity wirelessly; it is theoretically possible but still too far to be a reality. Imagine how cool will it be to have some places, where you can put all your gadgets and they will recharge their batteries without any hassle with different chargers and charging slots. While this cannot be done now, there is a possibility that this cool gadget will be a step forward in this direction.

The Wild Charger looks like a small pad, but it is not a simple one. It is a charger pad that will charge your gadgets while they are on it! It can seem fantastic, but it is true - you can just leave your gadget resting on it and the battery will charge. Of course, this task cannot be done with each and every gadget, because there is a special adapter still needed to be plugged in the gadget, and this adapter must come in contact to the pad to work. It is a simple but effective combination - just put devices on the pad, without need to plug in and out charge cables constantly.

This idea sounds great, and it is not a concept - this Wild Charger pad is available now, 60$ for the pad and 35$ for the adapter. Unfortunately, it only supports Motorola Razr V3 for the moment, with an gadgets. Maybe in not so distant future we will get rid of all wires at all, and gadgets like this make it even closer.

Pen-shaped wireless mouse

There is no need to explain the importance of a mouse as a controlling device for any PC user. It's hard to imagine that there may be an alternative to this well-known device that we've got accustomed to. Yet, it's not the fact that the traditional shape of the mouse is the most convenient and efficient one. Thus, some designers think that there is a possibility to change the way mouse looks.

The proposed gadget being a wireless mouse looks like a standard pen. Actually this unique device functions as a simple pen as well enabling you to put down everything you want, but when you detach the receiver and insert it into your USB port, the pen turns into a wireless mouse. So functionality and portability of the concept represents its key advantages in comparison with a usual mouse.

It has three buttons positioned on its side in the row. So the user can still have the three buttons to use. However, it does not have a scrolling wheel, which reduces its usability.

I have no doubts that this gadget is great for casual browsing; however, if you deal with graphics design or something like this, you will probably encounter some problems, at least at the first dash. No information is available about refillable cartridges, but I hope that the pen comes with them, because otherwise it would be a waste of money to purchase a new unit each time you need one. Nevertheless it is quite a decent idea that most likely will have its proponents.

Wi-Fi Detector Laptop Case - Useful Combination

Wi-Fi detectors became very popular nowadays. Many devices already have Wi-Fi capabilities and number of free hot spots increase every day. There are so many variations of detectors; it is hard to mention all of them. Detector pens, t-shirts, glasses... Unfortunately, they are not connected somehow with Wi-Fi device, so you can simply forget to take the detector with you while seeking hot spot with your laptop or PDA. Detector must have a needed usage so it will not be forgotten at home... And this laptop case is a good example.

Soyntec Wiffinder is a line of laptop bags, which will help their owners to detect free hotspots and know the level of Wi-Fi signal without having to take your laptop out of case. It is a very bright idea, because almost every laptop has Wi-Fi capabilities, so keeping it in this kind of case has two advantages: first - laptop is easily transported and safe while it is in the case, second - this bag will tell you when Wi-Fi signal is detected, so you can take out your laptop and get online. The Spanish Soyntec company offers four different Wi-Fi detector enabled bags to choose from.

If you prefer sport style, Wi-Fi finder backpack will suit your tastes; if you need something more serious then Wi-Fi finder suitcase will be more appropriate.

This is a good example of good and useful combination of useful and needed functions. You will always know whether this area has Wi-Fi signal or not, without taking out you laptop. So when you find a Wi-Fi signal, laptop will always near you to quickly connect to the Internet. The price for this bags are from 62 dollars for backpack or shoulder strap bag to 101 dollars for a trolley suitcase.
